Chiropractic Neck Pain Treatment

At Advanced Chiropractic Care, Dr.  James Yewchuk offers neck pain treatment from a chiropractic perspective. Your chiropractor will help you achieve neck pain relief but without the use of addictive medication. Dr. Yewchuk will give you treatments that treat neck pain at its source. Chiropractor James Yewchuk treats the source of neck pain, not just the symptoms. And some of the symptoms that really caused by neck pain may surprise you.

What is different about a pain in the neck?

Neck pain is a little different from the other kinds of pain that chiropractors treat in that it doesn't involve damage to tendons and ligaments. The muscles in your neck are attached directly to the vertebrae in your cervical spine.

Your neck muscles are in other ways identical to the muscles in the rest of your body. They renew themselves through a process of healthy inflammation. When you challenge a muscle in your neck or any other muscle in your body — with the maximum load it can carry, a series of physiological changes follow during your recovery period. The muscle becomes extremely sensitive to insulin, about 50 times as sensitive as it normally is. This helps it absorb glucose for the bloodstream to make glycogen. The muscle also becomes very sensitive to amino acids that it will use to rebuild itself stronger after optimal exercise — after it tears old proteins down.

When you have a neck injury, your neck muscles go through this same process of inflammation to tear down old tissue and absorption to rebuild new tissue, but they go through it on a grander scale. When you injure your neck muscles, at first they aren't inflamed. They aren't swollen. Then a few days to a few weeks later they become very inflamed and very swollen. They pull directly on your spine. In turn, the new misalignment of your cervical spine can cause neck pain on its own. Or it can pull on the muscles in your face so you have jaw pain or blurry vision or headaches. Misalignment of your cervical spine can interfere with your breathing and make a minor asthma attack a major asthma attack. A cold can seem like pneumonia.

All of this happens because the muscles in the neck become inflamed. A little inflammation, of course, is a healthy process. But by the time you have so much inflammation you have chronic neck pain, it is past time to see your chiropractor. You need to see your chiropractor just as soon as possible after any kind of neck injury to keep the process of inflammation and misalignment under control.

It's always better to see your chiropractor sooner rather than later for neck pain treatment.

Reviews By Our Satisfied Patients

  • "I've been going to Dr. Yewchuck for many years. He's always been able to get my stubborn neck and back aligned every time when other Chiropractors can't. I would trust Dr. James any time when it comes to my Chiropractic needs. He adjusted my neck 2 days after having surgery and was very careful getting me on and off the adjustment table. I now live in the Rogue Valley and anytime I'm in Klamath Falls and need an adjustment his office staff always gets me in within minutes of going to the office. Dr. James and his staff are very professional and caring about your individual needs. Can't wait to use his new equipment! I would recommend Advance Chiropractor to anyone."

  • "I don't know where I'd be if it hadn't been for James and his staff.....After a fatal MVA, he was able to find the injuries that neither the ER nor our doctor could at the time. He efficiently and effectively planned a course of action that got me back on the path of recovery. He's compassionate...he has knowledgeable, professional, and friendly staff. I'm proud to know him and the gals in his office.... He can certainly help you...I have no doubts about that."
